Health and Safety - Covid 19 – How to manage

COVID-19

Principles of Prevention

To date, the Covid19 infection prevention guidelines to be put in place for proper corporate prevention cover various aspects, each requiring corrective or preventive action:

  • Information to personnel and assumption of responsibility with self-certification
  • Methods of access to the place of work: controls at the entrance to the company
  • Access to external suppliers and visitors
  • Cleaning and sanitation in the company
  • Personal hygiene precautions to be taken in the company
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Management of common areas (canteen, locker rooms, smoking areas, drinks and/or snacks dispensers…)
  • Company organization (shifts, travel and smart-work, rescheduling of production levels)
  • Management of the entry-exit of the workers
  • Internal displacements, meetings, internal events and training
  • Management of a symptomatic case

NEMOTEC, based on the experience gained in the management of Safety in the Workplace and application of Legislative Decree 81/08, is able to provide services to its customers in the field of Covid-19 prevention, with the following operational sequence:

Phase 1 - Company Inspections and Gap Analysis to Covid-19 Regulations

  • Inspection of companies to verify the organization of work and the state of the working environment
  • Verification of organization charts and job descriptions for the management of safety at work
  • Analysis of company documents of Safety at Work

  • Identification of technical corrective and preventive actions necessary to comply with Covid-19 regulations

These may include (non-exhaustive examples):

  • re-organization of work spaces, desks and workstations
  • re-organization of industrial plants and related workstations
  • periodic sanitization of work environments
  • supply of PPE or other technical fulfilments necessary for the respect of the procedures by the personnel
  • others…

  • Identification of corrective and preventive ORGANIZATIONAL actions necessary for compliance with Covid-19 regulations

Phase 2 - Document Support and Creation of "internal protocols" for Covid-19 prevention

  • Drafting of company procedures for Covid-19 prevention, defined on the basis of the evidence found in phase 1.
  • Integration of company procedures with those in force in the company regarding Safety at Work (DVR)
  • Definition of control programs and implementation verification of what is indicated in the procedure and what is technically provided for in the Covid-19 prevention regulations.

The set of occupational safety procedures that have a consequence in Covid-19 management and the specific ones created in this phase of activity will constitute the so-called company “internal protocol” Covid-19 prevention, in fact an addendum to the DVR company under the responsibility of the Employer and the safety organization chart to date in the company.

Phase 3 - Inspections (internal or external)

  • Verification visits regarding the implementation of technical measures foreseen by Covid-19 prevention regulations (identified in phase 1).
  • Verification visits regarding the implementation of organizational measures and compliance with procedures (identified in phase 1 and described in phase 2).
  • Preparation of verification reports indicating necessary preventive and corrective actions.
